About our club
Purpose statement and guiding principles
The Lane Cove Cats is a junior football club that provides children with the opportunity to play Australian Rules Football. The purpose is to compete in the AFL Sydney Harbour Junior Football League in order to promote participation, social development and good citizenship.
The LCCJFC gives children the opportunity to participate in the game of Australian Football in a fun and safe environment.
We encourage the efforts of all players, coaches, umpires and volunteers and we recognise and reward all efforts.
It is mandatory that all coaches, players, parents and supporters adhere to the club’s Code of Conduct.
We believe in player rotation to ensure all players are given the chance to participate and experience all positions on the ground.
We promote a positive, family-friendly environment welcoming all parents and volunteers to the club.
We encourage learning and skill development for all players, coaches and support staff and insist all coaches have a minimum level 1 coaching accreditation.
We believe in the importance of developing our community standing and will always look at ways of involving the LCCJCF in community activities.
WHAT we offer
The Auskick program provides boys and girls (aged 5 to 8) with a fun and safe Australian Football experience that serves as an introduction to the game. Auskick sessions are run every Sunday during the Junior AFL season from 9am at Blackman Park in Lane Cove West.
Under 9s, 10s, 11s & 12s training sessions are run on Thursday from 5pm-6pm at Blackman Park No 3 & 4 ovals. Matches are generally held on Sunday mornings, with some Friday night games.
Adults are invited to join our club and play the modified, touch version of the game at Blackman Park during the spring and summer seasons.
