Sunday morning saw the third installment of the internal U9s Duncan vs Stengle derby match-up for the year, they’ve all been closely fought games, always good fun playing against your mates! Some great efforts from all of the kids this morning.

Both teams, with coaches, post match.

U9 Duncan Match Report:

Billy was his usual industrious self, getting the ball and using his pace to break away from the pack, Elsie kicked an awesome goal aided by a good bounce and continually used her pace and evasive skills to great effect. Max was strong in defence and was always clean in and under the pack. Elliott was really strong gathering the ball from the ground and finished off with a nice goal. Xander had his moments, a couple of really good gathers under pressure and clearances that made a difference. Liam is warming into his footy well, got a good few touches today and some nice clearing kicks.

Yali as always was hard at it, in and under everything with seemingly no fear, he’s taken to footy like a duck to water! Mason continues to use his silky skills (no doubt developed by always having a footy in his hands) and made sure he was in most of the forward movements, in conjunction with Archer breaking tackles, using his pace and kicking long. Tom is always solid, he always gives his all, and did some nice clearing kicks and delivery into the forward line. Josh had a great game, with a couple of good marks and solid efforts, it was great to see.

However one of my best memories from the game was George picking out the biggest kid on the opposition and wrapping him up in tackle after tackle, awesome efforts throughout the game from George!
