Match Report Round 7: Lane Cove Cats Rohan U8 vs Willoughby Wildcats Sunday 30th June 2019

It was a pleasure to have a lot of our players back in action this week and they certainly put on a show.

As always there was a lot of great teamwork but the highlight for me today was the cheering from the parents from the sidelines – the unsung heroes of the team!

The loudest cheering came from a few patches of play – there was a mark in the forward line from Gus where he seemed to take a step ladder out to the field with him as he climbed the back of Willoughby to take down a screamer to the crowd going wild.

Captain courageous Tom also did a great job with passing to the open players and working the ball through the midfield to set up plenty of goals for the team.

Aside from the noise from the sideline this week, there was also plenty of direction coming from the field.  With Owen back in the mix this week, it was great to hear him yelling to his teammates to keep the communication on field strong.  It also makes a pleasant change for the noise to be out on the sports field rather than at home…

Team Captain – Thomas

Best Effort – Saskia

Best Kick – Thomas

We’ve got the next 2 weeks to rest up so enjoy the break!  Next game is 21st July at 9:30 vs Balgowlah – its an away game so I will send out a reminder the week prior.  Oscar will be our Team Captain, we’ll have the Arnold’s on Orange and Snake duty with the Bealby’s and Bateson’s doing the B&F voting.

Enjoy the time off and see you in a few weeks!
