Team Rohan vs Manly Bombers Phantoms;

Our first away game was always going to be special (I think some of the kids felt like it was a proper AFL interstate game…) and it was definitely the toughest opponents Rohan has had this season so far.

Manly is a strong club and once they put the surfboards back on the roof racks and combed their locks to get to the warmup, you could tell they had some strong talent.

After a week off working on words of inspiration for his team, Joseph Mead stepped up as Captain today and did not disappoint – he lead by example and put in a great all round performance with some inspirational words of encouragement to his team.

All of the children have developed game play skills in a short period of time – the link up handballs, the running to free space, pressure on the opposition and plenty of talking – it was a pleasure to watch!

Special mention to Thomas Rigg who showed a strong performance in all positions as well as Oscar for some pivotal marks in the backline to stop goals when it was tight.

Whilst Max didn’t play today (late withdrawal from the medics) his effort on the sidelines was inspirational to keep his teammates on task and focussed.

Well done Team Rohan for our best team performance yet – quality game and great to watch such young and talented Cats.

For those who haven’t bought their tickets for the Soiree (Friday 31sat @ The Alcott) the link is below – it’s a social get together and would be great to see all of Team Rohan in action.  Who knows, there might be a Best on Ground for a winning parent in fine form!

Captain – Joseph Mead

Best Handball – Thomas Rigg

Best Team Player – Joseph Mead
