13 August 2018

After last year’s successful running of the inaugural event, the AFLJ 7s  series tournament will be back in 2018.

If you didn’t play last year, AFLJ 7s is a fast paced, low impact version of the game. It will be played on a small sized oval and involve only 7 players on the field. Each team can also have up to three reserves.

Rules include:

  • Played on a 75m long oval.
  • 10-12 min halves, with a short half time break.
  • 7 a-side, with max 3 interchanges.
  • No centre bounces, with kick-ins from full-back after each score.
  • No mark given when ball kicked backwards.

Competition is scheduled to commence the week starting 5 November and be played over 4 weeks. We have yet to finalise the exact day, but it will be on a weekday between 5-7pm.

We are planning to run several divisions so that kids can play against similar aged opponents. This will include at least one seperate youth girls division.

Full details will be releaesd in the coming weeks. However, if you have any queries, please don’t hesitate in contacting us.
