I have to say I missed Coaching Team Menzel on the weekend, though I am very grateful for Coach Michelle stepping in and helping out. It is never easy, especially when at home having to set up the ground and U9’s breathing down your neck up to play next. Thank you, and to all the parents who assisted, we appreciate your contribution.

As a coach, I look back on the past and share life experiences to the lads to get the best out of them. This week, losing was something they all have to learn, it is part of the game. The good news for Team Menzel is if you never lose, you are never truly tested, and never forced to grow. I look forward to talking to the boys before the game on Sunday to let them know to never give up, never give in, and when the upper hand is ours, may we have the ability to handle the win with the dignity with which we absorbed this loss. This is critical for us to instill it into the kids, especially if you have been a Bombers fan for the last few years, oh and a Blues and Demons supporter for the past few decades…… ?

There were a few standouts during the game even with a lower scoring affair than previous games. After now reviewing the match video ? 6 times over the past 36 hours, the loss is exactly what we needed and will only make us stronger. It has highlighted area’s I need to focus on with the lads, like ensuring they are carb loading correctly, getting their daily massage, doing their mid week sprint and ball handling drills that have been assigned to them. I will check in with the boys on the weekend to ensure they are getting all the necessary support to ensure we are getting the most out of this professional outfit.
On a serious note, hope the kids enjoyed themselves last Sunday and looking forward to pulling on a jersey with the boys this weekend.
Enjoy your week and see you all Sunday!
