Match Report Round 5 – U8 Menzel Sunday 13th May

What a morning; Cold, Windy, Rain, Mud (yes, I saw some) and of course a convincing win over Mosman!

We welcomed a new addition today to Team Menzel. Billy Kerrison who slotted right in to the group, great defence and pretty sure kicked a goal! Well done.

All the boys did an amazing job today, the conditions were tough, though they all dug in and put on an amazing show. We moved the ball around, some great kicking and hand-balling down the middle corridor getting into our attacking zone where we were quick to convert. I saw some fantastic acts of sportsmanship throughout the game, which was great even with the healthy lead we had.

Each week I plan to nominate a captain. I’d like to give each of the boys the opportunity to lead the team for a game during the season.

Training: If your son would like to join Thursday nights training, although not official for U8’s, they can join U9’s – training starts at 5pm, Blackman Park.  Jamie Platt, Hugos Dad on copy, is typically at training and offered to help direct the boys if they attend.

Lastly, Happy Mothers Day again to all the Mum’s of Team Menzel! Hope you got to rest a little and were spoilt.

See you next week.
