Its less then 3 weeks until the 2018 season of Auskick gets underway! Below are some of the main details for the season ahead.
Round 1 – Sunday 8th April (screen shot of season calendar attached)
Time – 7:45am (kick to kick) for 8am start, until 9am
Location – Blackman Park (Lloyd Rees Dr, Lane Cove West)
Uniforms – you will be allocated a Jumper, Shorts and Socks on Round 1. The socks will be yours to keep however the Jumper and Shorts will need to be returned at the end of the season.
Shoes/Boots – Either sports shoes or football boots are fine, it is your choice what you want your child to play in.
For those who are new to the club there is no training during the week for Auskickers. All skills training is done on Sunday mornings, followed by a game in groups of children the same age.
Over the coming weeks, try to kick a ball (doesn’t have to be a footy, any ball is fine) with your child to start working on the hand-eye coordination, it will help them start the season if this is their first year. We are a family friendly club so parents can cheer from the sidelines as well as help during the drills – some children need some support from their parents while they are learning the game.
We have over 100 children registered so far and are closing in on what was a record number of Auskickers last year. For anyone who is still to register I have placed the link below. Feel free to forward the registration link onto any of your child’s friends who you think would like to join.
Auskick Packs will be distributed from now for those who have paid their registrations fees – please don’t worry if it doesn’t arrive before Round 1 as the AFL need to issue about 50,000 of them around Australia so they can take a little while. There is nothing in there required for the season, it is just merchandise for your child’s enjoyment.
Another reminder prior to Round 1 will be sent out with some more details, however if you have any queries prior please contact Peter Beck (firstname.lastname@example.org).
