This is the third year the Lane Cove Cats have taken home the prize since in 2013, following on from the great work of Nick Brumley in the formative years of our club.
Peter has been the driving force behind Auskick, with registrations hitting a record 124 in 2017. This includes having the second largest group of girls in this age group in the Sydney region.
He was instrumental in getting our first ever team into the Auskick U8 competition. In conjunction with David O’Dowd and James Lowry, we now have some well skilled 8 year olds that will integrate seamless into the U9 competition next year.
He also started up Team Saints, for children who need some extra time developing the skills. The format for this team was slightly different, and it will be the full hour dedicated to skills with no game at the end. This enabled the children to gain confidence up, before being reintegrated back to their original Auskick team.
He also continued to drive some old favourites, such as the Mothers Day match and 1/2 Time Auskick games at the SCG.
To take a look back on the year, below is a link to a 5 minute video with some of the photos from the season I’m sure you will all enjoy!
Auskick is the life and blood of any junior AFL club. And the future of the Lane Cove Cats will be so much stronger due to the great work that Peter has been doing.
