Volunteers of the month

Volunteers are the backbone of our club. With today’s busy lifestyle, people’s time is even more precious. The reasons for volunteering are numerous. But one thing is for sure; we can’t do without them.

To recognise their efforts, we are instigating a Volunteer of the Month award. The rewards will be varied, but the thanks will be consistent.

This month’s awards go to Michelle Hawtin, Caroline McDonald and Greg Byrne.

Michelle Hawtin has done an outstanding job running the BBQ so far this year. Without hesitation, she stepped in and filled the breach after we decided to run it every week in 2017. Even when her son is playing away, she has put her hand up to help out.  Caroline McDonald has also played her part in helping establish the weekly BBQ. In fact, she did so without anyone asking.

Greg Byrne has been instrumental in getting the youth girls team up and running. He hasn’t stopped promoting the team and raising awareness in Lane Cove about our new venture. But that’s not all. He’s also taken on the role of social media manager at the club. This has seen page views, engagement and likes significantly increase on Facebook and twitter

As a reward, they will receive free tickets to the upcoming homes games of GWS Giants (v Collingwood) and Sydney Swans (v Brisbane).
