Why Play AFL with Us?

The Lane Cove Cats AFL Club are a community first football club playing out of Blackman Park in Lane Cove. We have teams in all age groups, male and female from ages 5 to 18 years old.

AFL is a great game for sports development in the following areas :

• Hand, Eye and Foot co-ordination - Using both hand & foot develops a more rounded sporting individual
• Physical Activity & Aerobic Capacity - the game can involve a lot of running, especially when covering the left or right wing. 
• Evasive Running Techniques -  In tight situations you can be surrounded by defenders so players develop elite evasive techniques
• Positive Relationships and Teamwork - We prioritise building relationships within the club and encourage teamwork as an advantage
• Member of a Community Football Club - Feel a sense of belonging becoming apart of a local football club heavily involved in the community
